Tell us your Advanta Wealth story – where and when did you start at the firm, and how have you got to where you are now?
I have been with Advanta Wealth since it was founded in 2012. Like many of my colleagues, I joined the company after University and started my career in our administration team in Glasgow.
From there, I have progressed through a number of roles within the organisation whilst undertaking further professional qualifications, fully supported by Advanta Wealth.
I moved to our London office in 2013 and attained Chartered Financial Planning status in 2016. This year, I have been promoted to Head of Private Clients in London.
What knowledge do you have that would be hard for someone coming into the company from without to acquire?
We are a regulated industry and one in which there is a strong focus on academic achievement. Advanta Wealth could recruit already qualified professionals to join our firm but we choose not to.
Instead, we prefer to grow talent from within and are totally invested in our team. We want to support them in their development and future careers. This loyalty is very much reciprocated and has allowed us to build a team which knows our firm and its clients inside out.
Through having this loyalty, our clients get to know who we are and see us as individuals. Whilst my role and responsibilities have grown and evolved, for many clients, I will always be a source of consistency and a “safe pair of hands”
