Carolyne Russell – Independent Financial Adviser
My career in Financial Services started with Scottish Amicable in Glasgow where I worked for 4 years in the Legal Department providing specialist support to IFAs around Trusts while passing CII exams – FPC and Certificate in Insurance Practice.
I always enjoyed client facing opportunities and realised that I wanted to be advising and joined RBS in 1994 as a Financial Planning Manager where I remained for the next 18 years. During my time with RBS, I had the opportunity to work within all areas of Financial Advice advising personal, business and corporate clients.
After an RBS restructure, I made the easy decision to become an IFA with the Advanta Group in 2012 and managed and expanded my own client portfolio over a number of years.
In 2018, Director Ken Anderson retired, and I now head up the combined client portfolio with the assistance of a team of six staff.
I specialise in providing defined benefit pension transfer advice and I’m also a later life specialist providing advice around Equity release and Long-term care solutions. I work with our corporate clients to understand their business needs and provide added value to the ongoing relationship.
Many of these clients I have known a long number of years and the relationship I have with them allows me to be seen as a trusted partner. It is important to me that our clients are able to make informed decisions around their finances and I will work alongside clients to help them do just this.
